First Tactical's Defender Series Pants are the best of both worlds: performance built to handle any mission while maintaining the professional look needed when on normal patrol. In the performance department specialized pockets (28 in total) boast ample space for oversized gear, magazines, and all other equipment. Articulation is at the forefront of design as articulated knees, running gussets throughout, and vented mesh pockets provide advancement movement and breathability. Ventilation in multiple key areas make these the ideal warm weather pants.

Heavy-Duty Workhorse

I’ve been wearing these pants for years for operational and training use. I still wear the first pair I got years ago. They have survived brutal conditions and are my go to training pants for hard use over my cryes, 5.11s, etc. I came back to buy my 6th and 7th pair and figured it was worth it to write a review. I have some serious miles on these pants in just about every environment.

Firstly, know what you’re getting. Being bomb proof, they are on the heavy side and they don’t pack small. Not the coolest in extreme heat but not so bad that I shy away from them in the summer. I don’t consider any of these things as really detrimental… but again, know what you’re getting.

I like the roomier cut and the clean professional look. The hip pockets might look odd at first glance but they are the most functional ones I have ever owned. That’s another big reason I wear these. The organizers inside the hip pockets easily fit 5.56 and 308 mags without them smashing or digging into the legs when you run/ruck, get in and out of vehicles or get into various positions.

I don’t always use the ankle pockets but when I do, they’ll fit a SWAT-T or flex cuffs.

The rest of the pockets are also well sized and I’ve never felt like I needed extra space for anything. Belt loops are strong and the pants handle heavy battle belts well.

I go one size up on length but waist is my usual.

In summary, these are outstanding.

Solid pants for SAR

Of all my outdoor rescue pants, these are my favorite. Well made and with plenty of pockets and reinforcement at the right places. Comfortable.

Great Pants, high Quality

These pants are great Quality. I have 2 pairs of the OD Green Defender pants, they are my duty uniform pants. I have 1 pair saved for Court and trainings. I wear the other pair everyday, they have help up well for the last year, no rips or any deficiency I’ve seen. The stitching remains intact, the zippers still work, and I’ve put these pants through a lot, from ranges, callouts, and training. Would definitely recommend these to anyone.

Best Pants

I got these pants as an extra for my department and I love them. They have so many pockets and features, while still being comfy and breathable. A huge win with these!
